Beef Short Ribs Recipe. Christmas is just around the corner and one of the most difficult thing to contemplate about is what to prepare for this wonderful occasion.  One suggestion that I can think about is "Beef Short Ribs".  Imagine the meat that melts in your mouth, the most appetizing aroma and its mouth-watering goodness.  Now I'm hungry, just by thinking how delectable that is, so let's not prolong the agony and start right away.

I'll be sharing an easy but delicious recipe for you to start with.  This one is called "Slow Cooked Oriental Short Ribs".  This recipe is originally called "Asado" or braised pork in sweet sauce.  It's a native recipe from the Philippines that originated from china.  This is so simple that all you need to do is to dump everything in.

Take note of the ingredients that you will need for this recipe, although some of them can't easily be found in your local grocery store if you are someone residing in the western continent, but it's still worth the effort.

What you need are the following; (the recipe is based on a kilo of short beef ribs)

5 grams pepper corns

100 grams black wild mushroom

100 grams shitake mushrooms (soaked, whole)

5 grams all spice ground

2 cups soy sauce

1/2 cup water

300 grams brown sugar

50 grams pineapple cubes for garnishing

parsley for garnishing

Procedure;

1. Put the short beef ribs at the bottom of the pot.

2. Add in all the dry ingredients.

3. Pour in the soy sauce and water.

4. Bring it to boil.

5. Once the stock reached the boiling temperature, lower down the heat to a minimum possible heat and simmer for 2 hours.

6. After couple of hours take out the ribs and put it on a serving dish.  Continue to simmer the liquid until reduced and thickens or according to your preferred consistency.

7. Pour in the sauce on the ribs at the serving dish and add final touches of pineapple cubes and parsley.

The good thing about this recipe is the aroma that will fill your kitchen while simmering and this one is best served with steamed rice, enjoy!

For a unique brined and beer-simmered barbecued beef short ribs recipe you will need four to six pounds of beef short ribs, one cup each of kosher salt and granulated sugar, two quartz water and six bottles of lager beer and your favorite barbecue sauce. Mix the kosher salt, sugar and water into a two-gallon resealable plastic bag and agitate it until the sugar and salt are dissolved. Place the clean short ribs inside the bag, squeeze out most of the air, seal the bag and place inside the refrigerator for six to eight hours. After marinating, rinse the short ribs. Pour the beer into a large stock pot and place the rinsed short ribs inside. Top the ribs with about half an inch of cold water. Once the liquid is simmering, turn the heat to low and continue to cook the ribs for two hours. Prepare your grill and when ready, place the ribs bone side down. Cover the grill and allow the ribs to cook for thirty minutes. Brush the ribs on all sides with barbecue sauce and continue to grill for an additional nine minutes with the grill covered. This recipe will serve four people.
